Guidelines for Library Flowers
Please take your arrangement (flowers or plant) to the library as early as possible on your scheduled day.
You are expected to take care of the arrangement so plan to water it two or three times during the week (and replace materials as needed).
People have been asking the librarians about the arrangements, so please describe the plant material used on a 3x5” card to be placed in a holder nearby.
Please do not use any fragrant lilies.
Pick up your arrangement the following Monday morning.
If you are unable to fulfill your duties the week you are scheduled, you are responsible for arranging a replacement and notifying Ann Boland of the change.
The arrangement will be viewed at eye level on the corner counter of the main circulation desk. The area measures 20” long x 19” wide x 50” high. When you water your flowers, take them to the sink behind the check-out desk. In the cabinet above the sink, there is a watering can and three cork mats, provided to protect the cherry wood counters, please use them if needed.
Consider “Books in Bloom” as a theme. You may wish to illustrate a book in your arrangement and use the actual book as a base or display on a stand or simply note the title and author on a card placed near the arrangement.
