President's Welcome        

During the first summer in my home I was overwhelmed with the volume and diversity of the plants that emerged from the ground. I had no idea they were coming up or what to do with them!  Over the years I have gone on a journey into gardening that I never expected, and thanks to the Sudbury Garden Club I have grown to be comfortable with those gardens and to feel that I can nurture them and also sort out the chaos that sometimes threatens to take over.  I have learned so much from all of you and from the amazing professionals that have come our way.

As I take over the presidency from Judy and start a new year with you I hope to continue the learning process and to explore many more aspects of our natural world together.  I also hope that we will build a stronger Club, increase our visibility in the community, draw in new members, and most of all see greater participation from all the members in the myriad of activities that are open to us.  Oh, and not to forget, have fun!

Please use this website frequently to check what’s on the calendar, find links to other interesting and important websites such as the Garden Club Federation where you will learn of all the workshops and programs that are offered around the region.  Here you will find such sites as the wonderful “Dig it!” Magazine and The New England Horticulture Society, which offers many outstanding benefits to us as members.  I also encourage you to submit photos of your gardens to the website for all to see.  

This year I hope each of you will find ways to enjoy the Club, whether making a new friend, joining in an activity for the first time, or learning a new skill.  I believe that we have a talented, vibrant group of members that together will contribute so much to the community and to each other.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to lead the way into an exciting and enriching new year.
